Prati di Tivo boasts 20 km of ski runs (including blue, red and black pistes), plus cross-country skiing slopes, snowboarding terrain and various ski mountaineering routes. There is also a beginner-friendly training area and equipment rental services.

Mountaineering enthusiasts in particular can set out from Prati di Tivo to climb not only Corno Piccolo but also the eastern and central peaks of Corno Grande.

The small village of Pietracamela, the municipality that hosts Prati di Tivo, is certainly worth a visit in the area. The town is characterised by stone buildings and houses dating back to the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and is a genuinely peaceful place to explore on foot. Notable sites include the church of San Giovanni, the Signoretti house and the small church of San Rocco, built in the sixteenth century. Also not to be missed is a visit to the tiny hamlet of Intermesoli, a truly evocative medieval village.

How to reach Prati di Tivo

Thanks to excellent road connections, Prati di Tivo is easily accessible by car and public transport. Those driving from the north should take the A14 to the Mosciano S. Angelo – Giulianova – Teramo exit, then continue along the SS80 towards Prati di Tivo. From Teramo you can reach the resort in less than an hour via the SS80.

From Rome, take the A24 to the Colledara – San Gabriele exit, then continue on the SS80 to Prati di Tivo. The nearest railway stations are Teramo and L’Aquila. From there you’ll need to take a bus operated by the regional TUA company to reach the resort.
